Coming From Disney in 2019

D23 Expo

2018 was a great year for the House of Mouse, but there is so much more to get excited for 2019! I’d like to take a moment to share some of my most anticipated happenings coming from Disney in the New Year.

D23 Expo

The Bi-Annual exposition of all things Disney returns to the Anaheim Convention Center in August 2019. The expo is filled with panels previewing all the upcoming Disney, Marvel Studios, and Lucas Films entertainment offerings. As well as all the latest news concerning the parks. Plus it’s filled to the brim with exclusive Disney merchandise!

Star Wars Episode IX

The last film in the current Star Wars Trilogy is set to release on December 20th, 2019. The film will wrap up the story of Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo Ren. While little details are known at the moment, this will be our last chance to see many beloved characters, young and old, together on screen.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

The latest and possibly greatest land to join Disneyland and Walt Disney World will be Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Set to open in the summer 2019 at Disneyland, and then in the fall at Walt Disney World, Galaxy’s Edge will let park goers become immersed in a fictional Star Wars location. The land will feature 2 E-ticket attractions, a cantina, and a full sized replica Millennium Falcon!

Disney Plus

The brand new streaming service coming from Disney is set to arrive before 2019 is over. A new Star Wars live action series, new content from the Marvel universe, and tons of content from Disney’s past will soon be available in one place to stream to our living rooms.

The Lion King

Jon Favreau’s live action/computer animation hybrid remake of one of Disney’s most beloved masterpieces is coming to theaters July 19, 2019. While Disney is also bringing out live action remakes of Dumbo and Aladdin in 2019, The Lion King is definitely my most anticipated.

Kingdom Hearts 3

The third chapter of this popular Disney crossover video game series returns on January 25th, 2019. Players will take control of main character Sora as he adventures across multiple Disney Worlds and interact with many classic characters.

The Return of World of Color

World of Color

The night time spectacular has been closed since April of 2018. While no official re-opening date has been given, fans of the water and lazer show can expect it to return sometime this year. I’m sure I’m not the only one that really missed not having the show during the holidays this past year.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway

Mickey Mouse’s first theme park ride is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019. Featuring technology that is being called “2 1/2 D” riders will get a chance to take a train car through a Mickey Mouse Cartoon.

Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame

The follow up to last year’s spectacular, but soul crushing film, Avengers: Infinity War will snap into theaters on April 26, 2019. Much is still unknown about the film, though we know the original Avengers will once again have to assemble undo the damage brought upon by Thanos in the last film. Expect lots of out of this galaxy action and heartbreaking moments as fans prepare to say goodbye to some of their favorite onscreen heroes.

This is just a small list of amazing things coming from Disney in 2019. I personally can’t wait to experience all this and more and live Disney Out Loud!!
