Aladdin (2019) Review

Aladdin is Disney’s best attempt yet to remake their classic animated properties into live action films. My expectations, like many others, were not that high after seeing the initial images and trailer. Instead, the film exceeded my expectations and is instead a flawed, by highly enjoyable movie.

Part of the journey is the end, and what an ending it is! The final chapter in the Infinity Saga, Avengers: Endgame is a little messy and sometimes convoluted, but an ultimately satisfying ending to one of the greatest run of films known to cinema.

Dumbo Review

The first of 4 new live-action remakes in 2019, Disney’s Dumbo is mostly a delight to watch. I was very skeptical of this film when it was first announced, as I am a big fan of the original 1941 animated film, and I have not been impressed by Tim Burton’s latest offerings. While the film definitely has some spotty moments and a few messy performances, it is ultimately saved by its directors unique vision.

Captain Marvel: Review

Captain Marvel is the latest entry by Disney in their shared universe of Marvel Superheroes. It was directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who are best known for their work on 2006’s Half Nelson. It’s the latest in a series of interesting directing choices for Disney and Marvel Studios.
